Hampton

Hampton Orthodontist Office Hampton Orthodontist Office

The theme of Dr. Fulton's Hampton office is inspired by Lewis Carroll, author of "Alice in Wonderland" and "Through the Looking Glass."

  • In the business area and restroom, some of the benefits of orthodontics were painted to be read while looking in a mirror.
  • The White Rabbit shows you where to make an appointment.
  • The King and Queen of Hearts are enthroned on the restroom door.
  • The vanishing Cheshire Cat is wearing braces!

Reception Area

  • The beach scenes are done in crayola crayons by Allen Rhodes.
  • The sculpture is by Bill Turner, a former dentist on the Eastern Shore.

Operatories

  • Room #1 - AFRICA - While attending college, Dr. Fulton went to summer school at the University of Nairobi, Kenya, East Africa.
  • Room #2 - SPORTS - features posters of soccer and skiing by Terry Rose.
  • Room #3 - MARINE - features posters of Hawaiian artwork known as Life on Life: life above and life below the water.
  • Room #4 - SNOOPY - “I’ll Get You Red Baron!” America’s favorite beagle hounds you to brush and floss for miles of smiles.

  • Benjamin Franklin wrote, “Happiness Equals Discipline and Confidence.” Dr.Catherine Oden Fulton helps her patients develop the discipline they need to get the most out of their braces. Their reward is the new confidence that comes with a healthy, beautiful smile.

Reception Area

Dr. Catherine Oden Fulton designed the reception area to maximize the natural light and the view provided by the windows. Although the waiting room is smaller than we’d like, we think it’s comfortable and accommodating. Nevertheless, if you feel crowded, please let our receptionist know and she will offer you a seat in the overflow area.

The work of local artist Ken Wright is featured in our reception area. The paperweights were gifts to Dr. Fulton, mostly from her father, Dr. Leonard Oden, when she was a child. She was once a member of the New Jersey-New York Paperweight Society. The light fixtures above the reception desk are made to look like Milano glass.

Operatories

Colorful is one word that describes the clinical area of Dr. Catherine Oden Fulton’s office. The bottoms of the dental chairs are painted Porsche black. After Dr. Fulton found the multicolored monorail light fixture, she had the chairs covered in a variety of bright colors – purple, red, yellow, orange, teal, and blue to match the lights.

Color is also an important theme featured in the artwork, including Hawaiian posters of paintings known as “Life on Life” because they depict life above and life below the water. The aquarium is a popular feature enjoyed by both children and adults.

The panoramic view of the neighborhood from this room provides a beautiful vista of the progression of the seasons and the ever-changing weather conditions. We hope you enjoy the sunshine, clouds, rain and all of nature’s gifts during your visits. For comfort, as well as esthetics, Dr. Fulton had an actual gym floor installed

Private Consultation Room

This room serves as a private meeting place for new patients and for confidential consultations with existing patients. If you wish to discuss a matter in private or to be treated in a private setting, please feel free to request this room.

Surf's Up! That’s the theme of Dr. Fulton’s Virginia Beach office, which is located across from the Founders Inn in the University Shoppes near the YMCA. Surfing was a passion of Dr. Mark Peterson, from whom Dr. Fulton purchased the office.

Dr. Peterson handcrafted the surfboards on the wall. Dr. Fulton enhanced the office’s beach theme with surfing posters and memorabilia.
