Dawson Academy Founded in 1979, The Dawson Academy is dedicated to teaching the principles and skills necessary for the successful practice of complete, quality, predictable dentistry with primary concentration on occlusion and the TMJ. Dr. Fulton attended the academy’s course for specialists and subsequent Dawson retreats in Aspen, Colorado and Santa Fe, New Mexico. At the Santa Fe retreat, Dr. Fulton was able to present her "Making Bites Better" article to Dr. Dawson for his review. After sharing his thoughts with Dr. Fulton in person, he asked her to send the article to his office. Here is his written response:

Thank you for sending the copy of your wonderful article on occlusion and orthodontics. As I told you in Santa Fe, I have not seen a better outline from an orthodontist and I’m very impressed by how consistent you have been in presenting the facts of occlusion. I just hope that your message can get across to other orthodontists. In the meantime, I think this is a marvelous introduction to your practice that could be used very appropriately to increase your dentist referrals. I think it would encourage them to refer more patients to you. I also asked you about publishing this on our web site with proper credit to you and if you’re in agreement with this, we would like to do that.
