Many patients who want to avoid wearing traditional braces for aesthetic reasons choose Invisalign invisible braces. While the Invisalign technology is not suitable for every orthodontic case, it can be the right solution for many patients. The Invisalign treatment system utilizes a series of clear retainers (aligners) that move your teeth. Invisalign patients must were their aligners for at least 20 hours every day. The aligner must be removed while brushing, eating and drinking anything other than unflavored water. The patient wears each aligner for a minimum of two weeks before changing to the next aligner in the series. In order for the Invisalign system to be used, all permanent teeth through the 12-year molars must be fully erupted. Therefore, treatment with Invisalign is generally limited to persons who are age 14 or older. There is no upper age limit for Invisalign treatment. |
